The most underrated home in Colorado Springs right The most underrated home in Colorado Springs right now is the one most buyers scroll right past.
I call it a grandma house. Not the lace curtains and shag carpet kind. I mean the home one family owned for 25 or 30 years, raised their kids in, and took care of like they planned to stay forever.
Cosmetically it might feel dated. But look closer. The windows were already replaced. The roof is a class four. When something needed to be done, grandma did not cut corners, she paid for the good version because she actually loved the house.
Here is the honest part. A lot of buyers walk because they see it needs updates and assume “money pit”. What they miss is that the expensive bones, the roof, the mechanicals, the structure, are already handled. You are paying a lower price for cosmetic updates you get to choose yourself, on top of a home that was genuinely cared for.
That is a very different situation than a flip that looks pretty on the surface and hides its problems behind fresh paint.
Next time one of these comes across your feed, give it a second look before you keep scrolling.
👋🏼 I’m Vanessa, your Colorado Springs real estate agent who would rather point you toward good bones than a pretty cover up.
Buy the land, build the dream home. Sounds simple Buy the land, build the dream home. Sounds simple until you’re standing on a dirt lot wondering where to even start.
Fun fact: I started my real estate career working for a luxury custom home builder that built homes for celebrities. That’s where I learned that building a home is about a lot more than floor plans and finishes. The land, location, and lifestyle matter just as much as the house itself.
I help buyers with this all the time, and the area you pick changes everything. Lot size, drive time, builder options, and what daily life actually feels like once you’re living there.
The honest part? Building from dirt takes longer than buying resale, and the budget and timeline conversations matter more than most people expect. But when it’s the right fit, you end up with a home designed around how your family truly lives.
If a custom build is on your mind, comment “BUILD” and let’s talk about your dream home.

Sometimes you just need a girls’ day and a last mi Sometimes you just need a girls’ day and a last minute patio dinner at Stellina.
The summer menu is reason enough to go right now. Fresh tomato and dill Caesar, seasonal spritzes, scratch made pasta, Roman style pizza on sourdough crust, and a patio that somehow makes you forget about the 14 unread texts waiting on your phone.
Great pasta, good conversation, the best Gelato and a couple hours where nobody needs anything from you.
Most weeks are pretty full around here. Three kids, real estate, endless group chats, and all the regular life stuff.
So when a friend says, “Want to grab dinner?” I usually don’t overthink it.
No big plans. Just good food, catching up, and remembering there’s more to life than the next thing on the to-do list.
One thing I love about Colorado Springs is that these kinds of spots are everywhere. The food scene has gotten so good over the last few years, and you don’t have to deal with big city traffic or wait weeks for a reservation.
If you’re relocating and wondering whether you’ll find your favorite local spots and your people here, you will. They might look different than what you’re used to, but that’s part of the fun.
Comment “LOCAL” for my favorite Colorado Springs restaurants and local recommendations.

Closing out the final year of my 30s with the thin Closing out the final year of my 30s with the things that fill my cup. Yes, it’s a little late... but what screams “busy mom of three and full-time real estate agent” more than celebrating your birthday after you’ve finished serving your clients? 😅
A stunning heirloom ring from Luisa Graff, a great meal (Italian, of course), and tiramisu. What else could a girl want?!
This decade gave me more than I ever expected. We moved to Colorado Springs in 2015 thinking it was just our next chapter.
Instead, it became home. We raised our kids here, built a business here, met lifelong friends here, and watched this city become part of who we are.
It only felt right to celebrate at places that have become part of Colorado Springs’ story, too.
We started at Luisa Graff Jewelers, a family-owned Colorado Springs staple for more than 25 years. What began as a single storefront has grown into one of the largest independent jewelry stores in Southern Colorado while staying true to helping people celebrate life’s biggest milestones.
I had one mission: find the perfect heirloom piece. Their estate collection absolutely delivered. If you know me, you know I’ve been embracing all things ‘90s lately, and I found the perfect ring.
There’s something special about wearing a piece with its own history and giving it a new chapter. I FaceTimed Aubrey for the final approval.
They may be known as the jeweler where Colorado gets engaged, but I think they’re also where a mom of three celebrates the end of a decade and finds a piece she’ll pass down one day.
Then it was off to La Bella Vita for slow conversation, great Italian food, a mocktail, and a toast to whatever comes next.
As I get ready to turn 40, I don’t feel like I’m leaving something behind. I feel like I’m stepping into a decade with more confidence, more gratitude, and a clearer picture of what matters most.
Forty... I think I’m ready for you. 🥂
👋🏼 I’m Vanessa, your Colorado Springs real estate agent. I help people find a home they truly love, and I believe the small celebrations matter just as much as the big closing days.
