Colorado Springs Parents: If you didn’t know… your Colorado Springs Parents: If you didn’t know… your home address does NOT automatically lock your kids into one school forever.
One of the big perks of life here is something called School Choice, and Colorado Springs is one of few places where parents actually have more flexible options.
Every year there is a specific enrollment window where families can apply for schools outside their assigned school zone.
Some schools fill quickly, so timing matters.
Here’s how priority usually works:
➡️First, in district families with siblings already at the school
➡️Then, in district families without siblings
➡️Out of district employee children
➡️Returning out of district students
➡️New out of district students
A few schools don’t participate in School Choice at all, so this is where things can get confusing, especially if you’re moving from out of state or trying to choose a neighborhood based on schools alone.
And if traditional public school isn’t the right fit, Colorado Springs also has a massive homeschool community and Colorado makes homeschooling really accessible for families!
There are also quite a bit of charter school and private school options!
I put together a guide to navigating the schools here, and all of the details you need to know (from my own experience!!) comment ‘SCHOOL’ and i’ll send it over to you!

Flying W Ranch’s Christmas Chuckwagon & Cowboy Christmas Jubilee has been a beloved December tradition for DECADES.
It isn’t just dinner and a show - it’s a Colorado Springs story of family and community.
It started in the late 1940s as a working cattle ranch, and in the early 1950s the Wolfe family began inviting guests out for horseback rides, simple chuckwagon meals, and music under the stars.
What started as neighbors gathering around a fire slowly turned into one of the most iconic Western traditions in the Springs.
The same family ran it for decades, and that heart has always been the point - gathering people, sharing a meal, and keeping Western heritage alive.
Even after the ranch was lost in the Waldo Canyon Fire, the Flying W was rebuilt and reopened because this place meant too much to too many people to let it disappear.
Today, you’re welcomed with a true chuckwagon dinner (rotisserie chicken, beef, baked beans, mashed potatoes, rolls, and dessert), followed by a live Western music and comedy show by the Flying W Wranglers.
During Christmas season, the show turns festive with a Cowboy Christmas Jubilee that blends old west charm with holiday spirit.
Showtimes typically run in the evenings, with gates opening about an hour before dinner so you can explore the grounds, feed the animals, and soak it all in before the meal and performance begin.
It’s one of those places where generations keep coming back grandparents who went as kids now bringing their grandkids. And honestly, that’s the magic.
Have you been… or is this still on your Colorado Springs bucket list? 🤎

AI can absolutely help with data, speed, and backe AI can absolutely help with data, speed, and backend work, and I use it where it makes sense. But that’s only a small part of what real estate actually requires, and not the job clients hire me for.
But AI isn’t camping out for a builder lot release.
It’s not catching what the photos didn’t show.
It’s not reading between the lines in a multiple offer situation.
It’s not spotting red flags because it’s walked through hundreds of homes.
And it’s definitely not guiding a family through one of the biggest, most emotional decisions of their life with empathy and real context.
Don’t get me wrong, AI is a great tool and there is a time and place for it.

Real estate is a relationship business.
If you’re making a move in 2026 and want someone who knows this market, this city, and how to advocate when it actually matters - I’m here. Reach out anytime!

👇 What’s something you think can’t be replaced by AI?
It’s crazy to think, it’s been 10 years now but we It’s crazy to think, it’s been 10 years now but we still remember how hard it was and how much it taught us as a couple, and as a family!
It’s one of the reasons we love helping other relocators now - because we’ve done it too!
Through lived experience we’re able to shed light on what really makes a difference, and how to navigate some of the things that come with a side of moving boxes and U-Hauls!
But hear me out… once you finally settle in, I think you’ll agree that there’s something special about starting fresh, and writing a new chapter of your story together.
Whether you’re coming from California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, the East Coast, or anywhere in between, the combo of mountain views, friendly neighborhoods, slower pace, and space to breathe does something special for relationships, and your overall quality of life - speaking from experience!
We had several families move from other countries this year, including the UK and Australia.
You’re not just moving zip codes. You’re choosing new routines. A better quality of life. Access to nature. Great schools. Room for a dog (or three). Places to host your people. And a community that actually feels like one.
If you’re thinking about a move (solo or with a special someone) I’d love to help you find just the right fit for the life you want to live.
Reach out anytime or comment ➡️ “RELO” and start with my relocation guide.
